Story
I decided to get a companion dog after I had a nervous breakdown in 1997. God and my family got me through it.
I was determined to get myself back on my feet. I started a discipline of running, reading the Bible, biographies,
philosophy, theology, and writing by the puritans. That is the year I also became a teacher and decided to teach kinder-3rd grade students.
These kids energized me with there positive and happy disposition. The joy is contagious. To add a different dimension to my life,
I decided to get a companion dog. I researched to match a dog to my lifestyle. I chose the king of guards, the Bullmastiff.
I bought my first bullmastiff (she died 2007), she turned out pet quality, but she was still a special dog. I bought two other
dogs from reputable breeders that turned out pet quality. Finally, after 8 years of searching and being disappointed,
I acquired a top notch dog. She finished her Championship with a breeze.
Unfortunately, what took me 8 years to get, I squandered in a matter of few months. I made an agreement to breed her that turned into a nightmare.
I was not able to locate Nina for several months. The other party involved hid her from me and she went from Texas to Arizona,
and finally was bred, and whelped a litter in Northern California (some 1200 miles away). I missed my dog, not because of her status,
but because I just missed my dog. Some people told me I would not see her again, but I didn’t give up, and with the help of a friend,
I got her back. I have never seen, and probably will never see, any of the 11 pups she whelped and nursed.
I wish I could say the problem resides completely on the other side, but I will accept responsibility for my carelessness,
ignorance, and credulousness. Nina is a great bitch. She has an excellent temperament and disposition, and is back where she belongs.
I want to thank her breeder Al for placing her with me.
